Comparing Healthcare Programs?

“I am excited about Impact Health Sharing because I have a pre-existing condition, and I have to take several medicines each month because of it, and I have saved $114 in the past two months at my local pharmacy.” - Liza B.
“Like most Americans, my healthcare costs kept going up up up for traditional insurance. A recent increase put me over $600 a month, and with Impact Health Sharing, I am paying a little over $200 a month. I love Impact. It just feels better!” - Debbie M.
“My husband Greg and I are fired up about Impact, we are both self-employed, and with Impact, we will save almost $2300 a year and cut our annual responsibility amount from $5500 to $2500 a year.” - Liz J.
"I first heard about Impact just a couple of years ago, and I didn't understand how it worked compared to health insurance. We had traditional insurance and high deductibles. It felt like we always had big medical bills, but since we've had Impact Health Sharing, we pay a low monthly rate, and the deductible is much lower. Our primary responsibility amount (like a deductible) is only $2,500 for a family. Once that is met, Impact pays 90%. So we're only responsible for 10%. The best part about it is that every single bill that we do get is negotiated down. So the bills we do get are the lowest price possible. Our daughter just broke her ankle, and had we had our traditional health insurance, the bill would have been around $2,200, but because Impact negotiated the rate, it was only $800. So we saved $1,400." - Spitzer family
“In June of 2020, I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, and I was in shock because I'm not an unhealthy person. I discovered the lump and went to the doctor and was given the formal diagnosis. I was blessed to be a part of the Impact program and have the healthcare that would take care of my bills concerning. I have gone through the journey of chemotherapy treatments, radiation, mastectomy, and immunology for the past year. I discovered that these are all the things I would have to do to have a fighting chance. The billing process was easy because the doctors sent the bill to Impact directly. Even those doctors who may not have heard of Impact before, I told them to go through the process, and everything would be fine. And they found out that that was the case. The savings have been a lifesaver for my husband and me in regard to our household finances. I got a bill last week, and the total was there, then it said you owe zero. It was just a blessing.” - Dr. Bolden

“Healthcare sharing works very similarly to what you may be used to, but also in different ways, much better. You benefit from repricing, and you don't have to get involved and inject yourself into that process. Once they're sent to us, we process the bill and make sure it is eligible. And so I love the works better, feels better aspect of Impact Health Sharing in, in trying to make the process as member-centric and as simple is as possible.” - Phil Chrysler
“If an HCS Program isn’t designed and operated in a manner that separates it from health insurance, then it is at risk of being destabilized and possibly shut down by an aggressive state insurance regulator. The role of a State’s Department of Insurance (DOI) is to regulate the practice of insurance and to protect its residents from insurance scams. So, regulators are appropriately annoyed if a HCSO doesn’t properly separate the operation of its HCS Programs from the practice of insurance. While there might be a debate as to ALL the ways an HCSO can separate its operations from the practice of insurance, experience has taught us that it is best to:
- Clearly state on all marketing material that Healthcare Sharing is NOT INSURANCE and that it provides “no guarantee,” “no promise to pay,” and “no transfer of risk;
- Never take receipt of member funds to avoid the practice of “pooling;.”
- Facilitate sharing by moving funds directly from one member’s account to another member’s account, also known as peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing.
If an HCSO is not willing to go to great lengths to make certain that you understand the difference, then they do not warrant your trust.” - Robert Baldwin, Chief Operations Officer (Sharable, LLC)
Unlike many other Healthcare Sharing organizations, we believe healthcare sharing is for everyone. That's why Impact Health Sharing is an ethically-based healthcare sharing organization rather than faith-based. Also, most Healthcare Sharing organizations require you to pay the bill upfront than wait upwards of a year to get reimbursed. With Impact, the providers bill us directly.
